Check with the Nile Ranger Station in Naches, WA about permits for certain areas in the forest with certain types of off road vehicles. Be sure to have all equipment needed in your vehicle to get unstuck if off-roading.

Please bear in mind that we have Bears & Cougars as well as plenty of Deer, Elk & Big Horn Sheep! Please keep safety in mind & keep your head on a swivel while hiking. They are more afraid of you than you are of them and do their best to avoid humans. I do offer hikers one of my dogs to accompany them on hikes for this reason. Local humans are often armed for all our safety.
