This restaurant is a terrific stop for lunch or dinner before or after meandering through Gastown's shops and cobbled streets. Make sure to wander down Water Street as far as Alexander and Powell to see a beautiful wedge shaped building on a brick road. This area is often filmed in movies to mimic old New York neighbourhoods.

From skiing, skating, snowshoeing and sled rides in the winter to hiking, zip lining, and catching the lumberjack show in the summer, there is always a ton to do. The Gondola ride to the top is a whopping $45 return (adult fare) whereas the ticket down is only $10 but you'll have to hike the Grouse Grind for that deal! This hike is strenuous and should only be attempted if you are in good shape, have proper shoes for hiking and plenty of water. The hike is one way. Reward yourself at the top by sitting out on the Bistro patio and taking in the AMAZING view!

Parks & Nature
Excellent, fairly short local trail to a beautiful lookout point. This is a very popular trail and I'd recommend going on a weekday rather than fighting the crowds on the weekend. You'll also find it much easier to park during the week. After your hike, reward yourself with a Honey's donut in Deep Cove Village. If you want to combine water and land, you can rent paddle boards and kayaks at Deep Cove Kayak Centre before or after your hike. Book ahead for rentals.

The park has many places to walk out on the rocks with views back to Vancouver and west to Bowen Island and Vancouver Island beyond. There is also a beautiful working lighthouse at the bottom of the trails. On the west side of the park you may spot rock climbers scaling the rocks above the ocean. There are a few rocky beach areas where you can spot sea life, like star fish and even take a dip in the ocean.
For a day at the beach or a stroll along the water with a terrific view of Lions Gate Bridge, Stanley Park and Point Grey.

A lesser known small park with amazing views, rocks to climb and a sweet beach. Divers frequent the area. Jump boulders out to the large rock "island" but be sure to head back before the tide comes in or you may be stranded. This park is close to Horseshoe Bay where the ferries to Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast and Bowen Island go in and out. There are several casual restaurants and a few shops in Horseshoe Bay.

7102 Marine DrA lesser known small park with amazing views, rocks to climb and a sweet beach. Divers frequent the area. My favourite hike on Cypress is the Eagle Bluffs Hike with a short detour to Cabin Lake. The views from Eagle Bluffs to Vancouver and up Howe Sound are out of this world! This is a moderate half day hike. Hike starts at the base of the ski hill.

I prefer this hike over the Grouse Grind. Even though it is a longer hike it is far more enjoyable with much better views on the way up. At the top there are plenty of trails, an incredible suspension bridge, food and decks to take in the awe inspiring views! A visit to town, Shannon Falls and sunset at Porteau Cove will round out your day!

At the top there are plenty of trails, an incredible suspension bridge, food and decks to take in the awe inspiring views! A visit to town, Shannon Falls and sunset at Porteau Cove will round out your day!
Entertainment & Activities
Just down the street in the heart of Lynn Valley you'll find the village with library, shops, mall, groceries, coffee shops and restaurants. Every Friday night during the summer there is a lively free concert in the village courtyard at 7pm. If you go early you can might secure patio seating at Brown's restaurant to enjoy good food and live music.

Every Friday night during the summer there is a lively free concert in the village courtyard at 7pm. If you go early you can might secure patio seating at Brown's restaurant to enjoy good food and live music.
Every Friday night from May through October you'll find delicious food trucks, goods made by local artisans and live music, all at the foot of the North Shore and overlooking the city.
