The beach is 20 minute walk away and is actually 8 miles long from Hengistbury Head to Sandbanks. Probably best to avoid right near pier as that's the busiest place. Harry Ramsden is great for fish and chips!

You have to visit the quaint Town of Christchurch for the priory, the Quay and lovely shops and restaurants. You can hire a little boat for a trip up the river.
