Food scene

Our local, neighborhood deli is a “must visit” on our list. Not only do they provide you with a multitude of delicious sandwich options, they also have great amenities (in case you forgot your face wash etc!), grocery items, a great beer and wine selection, and gifts too!

Delicious, farm-fresh menu items, great cocktails, they accept reservations (a big plus for SLO!), and often have live music in the evenings. Also not to be missed: their rooftop bar and lounge with a view of our downtown, as well as bocce ball!

Our favorite Thai restaurant in Downtown SLO! Try the “chicken noodle” dish (Danielle’s personal favorite), or the crispy rice lettuce cups (appetizer).

If you LOVE delicious Italian food and Neapolitan-style pizza, be sure to check this restaurant out! They have a cozy back patio that sits along the creek, wonderful appetizers and menu choices, great cocktails, and it’s locally owned! They do not accept reservations (walk-up only), but it’s worth the wait!

We absolutely adore this restaurant and the owner, Nate. Locally owned and newer to our food scene, this place is slightly off the beaten path (easier for parking!), but is a wonderful addition to our area. Excellent steak, burgers, pasta dishes and delightful cocktails. They also accept reservations! The indoor decor immediately transports you somewhere else, and it’s just a really great place all around!

Sightseeing

Every Thursday night, our beautiful downtown hosts an iconic farmer’s market. Everything from local, farm-fresh produce, to stunning flowers, numerous delicious food vendors, street performers, and handmade goods.. you do not want to miss this! A few things to note: •It runs along Higuera St., in between Nipomo and Osos. •Parking can be tricky, so walking is best (approx. 12 min walk from the cottage!)… Uber is great as well, and the best “drop off” point would be the History Museum or SLO Art Museum. •Most vendors accept cards, but bring some cash too, just in case!
