2000 acre State Park about 10 minutes from Cabin Fever. Drive or hike up to Boucher Fire Lookout. When it is staffed you are invited to clime the tower and a volunteer will point out interesting places all across San Diego County. 20 miles of hiking trails. Bring your own fishing gear and fish in Doane Pond.

Visit Cecelia's Farm. Looking for a fun outing? What a delight to visit Cecelia at her farm. Often there are baby goats to play with, eggs to gather, sheep to snuggle, yarn to spin in the loom room and seasonal fruit or vegetables to harvest. You might even be there for a birth of baby goats or sheep in the spring or summer. Sheering happens in April or May. It is extra special to plan your visit during feeding and milking time.
It is a working farm so you are invited to pitch in and help clean pens, which is always much appreciated. Would you like to learn to make cheese? You’ll love seeing Cecelia’s stone cheese cave and cheese making happens almost daily. You can buy fresh eggs and take home lots of laughter, and memories to treasure.
About a 5 minute drive or 25 minutes to walk to her farm. They do have very very protective livestock guardian dogs so other dogs need to stay home.

One of the smallest post offices in America. No lines to mail a letter or all your Christmas packages. Leave a book or take a book, meet some of the mountain folks and check out the latest on the bulletin board inside or Community Board to the left of the PO.
There is a very tall pole to the right of the building. It used to have a gas station sign on it. One big snow in the 1950's the old-timers tell the snow drifts were to the top of that pole.

Usually you have this park all to yourselves. Take a picnic and hike around. Go downhill, past the bathrooms and if we still have snow on the mountain in the winter, the lower area is where you will find it. Great for sledding.

The Bailey Resort was established in the late 180's. Originally it housed our Post Office and served general needs of the travelers. Now there are wonderful gifts to enjoy including mountain themed books and clothing.
