Sywell Reservoir is within 15- 20 minutes driving distance and offers a lovely 5km walk, café and children’s play areas including sandpit and woods. Additionally, Sywell offers open water swimming and has the old water pumping station on display.

If you bring your own kayak or paddleboard we would suggest driving out to Elkington, (15 minutes) and launching from the side of the canal. It is a peaceful and quiet part of the waterway, also great for dog walking and nature spotting.

Grand Union Canal
The Grand Union Canal runs between Birmingham and London and offers some fantastic spots to get on the water. If you bring your own kayak or paddleboard we would suggest driving out to Elkington, (15 minutes) and launching from the side of the canal. It is a peaceful and quiet part of the waterway, also great for dog walking and nature spotting.
Foxton Locks, part of the canal system just north of Market Harborough, is a grade II* listed site and home to the longest, steepest staircase flight of locks in Britain. You can hire a canal boat for the day here, and there are two pubs, two cafés and a canal museum that is well worth a look.

A small boutique vineyard producing small batch white, red, rosé and sparkling. Bill is incredibly passionate about wine and is always a pleasure to chat to! They offer a free tour with a glass of wine, a tour with 7 tastings for £15 and a tour with all 10 wines for £25. Tours can be arranged by calling 01604 880 197 or 07940 917 521, or popping in and seeing if Bill or Flora are about.

The Brampton Valley Way is road free cycling and a 5 minute cycle from our site. Situated along a discussed railway line, the trail goes through two spectacular Victorian tunnels and is a designated wildlife corridor. The 14 mile way is mostly flat with a number of points of interest, including Brixworth Country Park on the edge of Pitsford Reservoir.
