We use these guides every time we have guests come to visit, and they are excellent at both guiding and teaching the newbies. They have access to some water that other outfits do not.

Sightseeing
This is a beautiful place to visit. You can hike, with trails rated from easy to expert. Some even choose to climb down and then back up the canyon walls but you must have a lot of experience to be allowed to do so. There are two rims, the North and the South. The North rim is closer to our home, about an hour away but on some dirt roads. The South rim is accessed by going through Montrose and, because the roads are better, is also about an hour away.

This is a beautiful place to visit. You can hike, with trails rated from easy to expert. Some even choose to climb down and then back up the canyon walls but you must have a lot of experience to be allowed to do so. There are two rims, the North and the South. The North rim is closer to our home, about an hour away but on some dirt roads. The South rim is accessed by going through Montrose and, because the roads are better, is also about an hour away.
Located south of Ouray, Colorado (the "Switzerland of the Americas"), this pass is both terrifying and beautiful! You can access many back country jeep and ATV roads off this pass, and there is fishing and waterfalls and hiking for all.

Crested Butte is at the base of some of the best skiing runs in Colorado so you can always find things to do in winter there. However summer is just as fun, because Crested Butte hosts local breweries, ice cream shops, and restaurants that are all really great. Don't miss out on the 10-day Wildflower festival every July, and when Kebler pass is open, take the longer but more scenic back way into Crested Butte and see huge fields of wildflowers.
