Stealing the head photo spot is a phenomenal fish dish I enjoyed in the summer of 2021. The Bellflower has an excellent wine list, and meal after meal of unique deliciousness. I haven’t yet had an entree that I haven’t loved. In the warmer months, most definitely sit outside.

This complex sits on a stunning property. They have three concepts, The Boro ToGo, The Boro Dining Room & Bar, and The Dixboro House, which is very fine dining. In the warmer months, this is a great place to sit outside on picnic tables in their extensive lawn, to let kids run around, and to enjoy tasty pizzas from their wood-burning oven, while taking in the natural beauty.

5400 Plymouth RoadThis complex sits on a stunning property. They have three concepts, The Boro ToGo, The Boro Dining Room & Bar, and The Dixboro House, which is very fine dining. 2333 Washtenaw AveThis is a small, but very tasty casual dining option less than a 5 minute drive from Hillside Manor. It’s another great spot for families with children. They offer authentic Moroccan and Middle Eastern cuisine. Try their Moroccan Harira soup. Yum!

It’s super casual and often filled with college students, but the food is SO good, it’s always worth a stop. Order a cocktail, a beer, a fresh-squeezed fruit juice, or a Batido - a milkshake - Oh. So. Good.

You really shouldn't make a trip to this area without stopping at Zingerman's Deli once. It's iconic. Really good sandwiches that are so tall, they're hard to eat! Outstanding service. It's truly a unique experience.

There is a lot to like about this hip Ann Arbor spot. They have an amazing and long wine list, both for drinking at York, but also in bottles for purchase. It’s a large, open space with tall ceilings, lots of light and a combo rustic + modern feel. They offer food to accompany your wine, and it’s creative and tasty. During the summer, you should definitely sit out in their outdoor patio. It’s expansive, and you’ll be glad to be alive. Sometimes they have food trucks, sometimes music, but always amazing wine, food, and vibe.

1928 Packard StThere is a lot to like about this hip Ann Arbor spot. They have an amazing and long wine list, both for drinking at York, but also in bottles for purchase. It’s a large, open space with tall ceilings, lots of light and a combo rustic + modern feel. They offer food to accompany your wine, and it’s creative and tasty. During the summer, you should definitely sit out in their outdoor patio. It’s expansive, and you’ll be glad to be alive. Homes Brewery offers unique and tasty options, much better than a typical brewery. But, it is a brewery, and they’re known for their outstanding beer selection. I’m not a lover of IPAs, so there only a few beers I choose between each time, usually a lager or a sour beer of some sort. You can do a flight to try more of their options, and they’re generous with samples. They do have wine and cocktails too, but you go to Homes for the great beer…and great food.

You can do a flight to try more of their options, and they’re generous with samples. They do have wine and cocktails too, but you go to Homes for the great beer…and great food.

It’s great for hosting gatherings and groups. It’s a perfect place to stop while walking around Depot town. They have a full selection of beers made by Arbor Brewing Company, from IPAs to Blondes, to Pilsners, Stouts, and Fruit Beers (yes, I said fruit beers - try their Black Kreik!).

Ypsi's Depot Town is a well-known hot-spot. From great dining and drinking spots, to venues with live music, the Saturday Farmer's Market, the train depot venue, it's a happening spot. It's easily walkable, great for couples and families. You really can't go wrong.

Ypsi's downtown area may not be as famous as Depot Town, which is centered around the Train Depot, but of late, it often has more going on at night. It's a little grittier, but the whole family can hang outside, listen to live music, and check out any number of places to eat, drink, or play!

Ann Arbor is small enough to not be intimated, and big enough that there is at least one REALLY good thing of everything here. It's very family-friendly. Well-known for the U of M campus and hospital, it's a thriving university town, that also has a thriving non-university community. Check out one of the many hikes, kayak or tube down the Huron River, walk the streets, dine out, and find great live music almost any night. You can spend a few days here without any problem!

Check out one of the many hikes, kayak or tube down the Huron River, walk the streets, dine out, and find great live music almost any night. You can spend a few days here without any problem!
