We have funky cafe's, hatted restaurants, takeaways, awesome Canberra local family run institutions offering the best food, in our opinion, you'll find anywhere!
No matter what you're in the mood for you will find it in our town & close by.
We are sharing here a few of our favourites and hope you have time to give some a try & love as much as we do.
Local: This is an institution, run by a local Croatian family. This is a small seafood speciality BYO only restaurant that has been operating for 24 years. It is one of our favs!! They often close the doors for a couple of months in winter to return to Croatia.

Close by: Less than 10 mins away this is another family run Canberra institution in the suburbs, operating for over 29 years! They also do takeaway but I suggest get yourself a bottle of wine at the Independent Grocery store next door and go in for a meal! Definitely book if its a weekend

They also do takeaway but I suggest get yourself a bottle of wine at the Independent Grocery store next door and go in for a meal! Definitely book if its a weekend
Close By: Another option within 10 minutes (you are probably guessing we love a local by now :). This is relatively new. Run by a young couple with an amazing wood fired pizza oven & lovely menu with cocktails and a few wine options

Fast Food - Who doesn't love fried chicken!! This is a Canberra invention, starting as a food van and expending into a shopfront in the very funky Braddon! Seriously good chicken we never miss when we are at the footy! (We love it so much they catered for our sons wedding!!)

By the water: Take a picnic rug & grab some takeaway fish and chips or book a table on a Sunday. They often have live music. Its a very chill Sunday afternoon by the lake.

We go here for a great steak & good wine, simple as that. It is one of Canberra's oldest continually running restaurants of 53 years (and looks it located in a heritage building). But looks can be deceiving, their steaks are to die for. Its a $30ish uber ride to the city and worth it. After dinner you can wander to one of our many cool city bars.

There is so much to see in Canberra. Whether you are a nature lover, adventure lover, history lover, lover of politics (hahaha), food lover or wine lover or all of the above you are really spoilt for choice in the Canberra region with Kambah providing easy access to the best attractions..

Want to let the kids experience the snow without the expense! Only a 35-minute drive away the kids can play in the snow or try the Alpine slide and you can settle into the cafe by the open fire afterwards

A 20-minute drive away this is a lovely way to spend the day for a family picnic and sightseeing around the lake. You can spot all Canberra's landmarks as you put around.

For the kids
We have many things to keep the kids amused right here at the Kambah resort and surrounds. There are some wonderful walks where the kids will see Kangaroos (early in the morning) and horses & plenty of games indoor and out. The Canberra region has some really cool entertainment options for kids too. See Visit Canberra website for some ideas. I've just included some we enjoy with our family.
Im sure adults will enjoy as well, but kids will definitely love exploring our Science Centre that has heaps of fun interactive and educational displays to immerse yourself in.

We take our nice & nephew here. Its really good value and you can take your own lunch/snacks so you dont end up spending a fortune.

Lots of kids stuff located on the edge of Lake Burley Griffin Weston park is also a great spot for picnic. Putt putt golf, a mini railway & mini farm this is a good afternoon without spending a fortune.

A great way for the energetic to explore our lake & paddle under the Captain Cook fountain. They were a Canberra institution before disappearing for a while but they are back!!!
