Excellent carry out options in both cases. Hotel Africa good for a traditional Tuscan meal and run by two sisters who make all food themselves. It is worth a venture to try something local and different. Cantina Certaldo across from the Hotel Africa for the local ‘hooch’ …. bring your own bottle and fill from the pump or buy a 5L box (€<10) …. perfectly drinkable table wine. Nice selection of local Honey and oils. Travel Time 5 Mins.

Always try some of the local Volterran wines …. they are really good. The Etruscan Museum and the amphitheatre are worth a view as is the part in the centre of town. Travel Time 20 Mins .

Can walk from the tower through the city to the Arno and interesting walk with shops, street sellers and bars …. watch out for the Piazza del Cavaleria. La Spezia – Gateway to La Cinque Terre …the 5 lands - take train from central station to the first of 5 villages and then walk from village to village and return by train. Each Village has its own character. If doing the village walk, good walking shoes , lots of water and swimsuit are a must. Beautiful and stunning views as you make your way on the trail. Travel time 1.5 Hrs
