Egypt Woods is where Wolf's Lair is situated. You can't go in, but it is a cute little hut owned by the Canoe and Kayaking Club of Jersey and it looks like a little Hansel and Gretel cottage. The cliff path is just to the side of it if you fancy continuing the walk. Beware: it is a long way down to Wolf's Lair and quite the exhausting walk back up! Beautiful views over the English Channel from the cliff path. From the top, try to spot the Minquiers, Paternostas and Ecrehous rocks. It will probably take just over half an hour to get down to Wolf's Lair walking from the cottage. Directions: Turn right out of the cottage and head north for 130 metres, then turn left on La Rue de Cambrai. Follow this road to the end then turn left on Rue des Platons. Follow the road around to the right. Opposite you, will be La Rue d'Egypte. Follow this road until you see La Rue de la Chicanne. Turn right down here and follow the road until it ends. Keep following it as the road becomes a track. Follow the track down into the woods and you will eventually come to Wolf's Lair. Then explore the wood!

Beautiful little harbour either a (long) walk or a short 12 minute cycle ride away. Grab a bite to eat at the "Hungry Man" cafe. The best way to get there is to cycle and to put this into your Googlemaps. It's quicker to go along the main roads, but the route 1 cycle route is far prettier.

A beautiful 10-15 minute walk away is a lovely country farm shop. Simply delicious Jersey strawberries. We have walked there many weekends to buy strawberries for a dessert, only to have eaten them all on the walk home! They also sell ice cream which is lovely on a warm day after you have walked there. Be prepared, prices are expensive but the strawberries are worth it. They also sell cards and flowers. Directions: Turn right out of the cottage and head north for 130 metres, then turn left on La Rue de Cambrai. Follow this road until you see Rue du Nord on your left. Beaches

Our favourite sandy beach, Beauport Bay is perfect for swimming in crystal clear waters. It holds a special place in our hearts as it is where we became engaged and it is also the place Sarah's Grandpa would swim every day until he was 90! There is a car park at the top, and then it is a steep descend down lots of stairs, followed by a short clamber over rocks to get down onto the beach. There are no toilets so you need to time your visit appropriately!
