The QUICKSILVER PRO is held every year in the first 2-3 weeks of March around at Rainbow Bay Beach/ Snapper Rocks. With national and international surfers coming to Coolangatta for the competition, the suburb becomes a hive of activity with all of the local pubs and clubs organising special events, live music and celebrations for the two weeks of the competition. A great time to get in amongst the surfing culture that is Coolangatta!

GOLD COAST ARTS & CRAFTS MARKETS are on every weekend with them rotating between Burleigh, Broadbeach and Coolangatta. Every 2nd Sunday of the month from 8am to 2pm the markets are held in the park off Marine Parade, on the beach front, opposite the Strand Shopping Centre. These markets are a great morning out and with up to 150 stalls, there is literally something for everyone! The stalls range to include arts and crafts, furniture and home decor, jewellery, fresh produce, food and drinks and other nic-nac stalls as well as live music from local musicians. Being only a 15 min walk from our unit, make a morning of it and walk around the beach front board walk to the markets and enjoy some breakfast from the food stalls or the Coolangatta Surf Club (their bacon and egg burgers are delicious!) who usually fundraise at the markets. There is ample parking along Marine Parade as well as down Griffith Street and under the Strand Shopping Centre (3 hrs free). These same markets are also held at Coolangatta on the 4th Sunday of every month with 5 Sundays.

The stalls range to include arts and crafts, furniture and home decor, jewellery, fresh produce, food and drinks and other nic-nac stalls as well as live music from local musicians. Being only a 15 min walk from our unit, make a morning of it and walk around the beach front board walk to the markets and enjoy some breakfast from the food stalls or the Coolangatta Surf Club (their bacon and egg burgers are delicious!) who usually fundraise at the markets. There is ample parking along Marine Parade as well as down Griffith Street and under the Strand Shopping Centre (3 hrs free). These same markets are also held at Coolangatta on the 4th Sunday of every month with 5 Sundays.
