Wayne and Freda might just be the hippest coffee shop in Penticton. Nestled into the Brewery District only a couple blocks from Okanagan Lake, it serves up fantastic coffee and delicious food. A latte and a bacon breakfast sandwich there is always one of my favourite ways to start a day!

You can't help but love Here's the Thing the moment you arrive. The adorable yellow house is so very charming, as is Leah, the owner. For great wines and a cute story, it's always worth a stop if you're headed down Black Sage Road.

If you are in the mood for pizza, it’s got to be Gusto Ferrari! Call in for takeout, and if they aren’t answering, just drive over. You’ll get to see this amazing Italian family at work first hand! Nothing fancy about their space, but the best pizza in town. The Sfiziosa or the Partenopia are a couple of my favourites.

The KVR trail is a beautiful walking/biking trail that runs through Penticton, and all the way out to Naramata. Follow the trail along the clay bluffs, across the scenic McCulloch Trestle, through the vineyards, and all the way to Little Tunnel in Naramata. There are plenty of wineries along the way, should you get thirsty!

Don’t miss a chance to float down the lazy river from Okanagan lake to Skaha lake. Remember to bring your sunscreen! And I highly recommend booking the bus to bring you back… it’s a long walk if you don’t!

Take a wine trolley!
If you’re headed out for a day of wine tasting on the Naramata Bench and you don’t have a designated driver, check out the Grape Savvy Trolley Co! They have a hop-on, hop-off service along the bench in cute vintage trolleys. You can book online, and they have a handy app that shows you where the trolleys are so you don’t risk just missing one and waiting around.

If you aren’t around for the big Penticton Saturday farmer’s market, or if you just really love farmer’s markets (who doesn’t?), be sure to hit up the Naramata Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays in the summer, between 4-7 at Manatou Park in Naramata!
