he expansive park aerial extending along the River Bode south of the castle-hill encompasses an area which was known as \"Broil\" (wetlands) in the 12th century. It belonged to the nearby Wiperti Monastery. In the seventeenth century, the Imperial Ladies\' Convent on the castle-hill ordered the creation of a park in Baroque style. Along with its later addition of carefully landscaped adjacent park grounds fashioned in the style of English Romantic gardens, the Brühl still retains its original Baroque symmetrical hunting-star pattern which lies on a direct trajectory to the castle-hill residence of the abbesses of the Imperial Ladies Convent.

Getting Around
The station Quedlinburg was built in 1862 as a transit station on the southern edge of the city Quedlinburg. The neo-Gothic reception building from 1862, together with the other facilities of the almost closed Gründerzeit era ensemble. The platform 3 is since then stop the Selketalbahn, which has a siding next to a Umsetzgleis to implement the steam locomotives. From Quedlinburg there are train journeys several times daily via Gernrode to Eisfelder Talmühle, two of which are daily under steam.

Pictures were taken on glass with an old wooden camera in a collodion wet plate process, a technique developed in 1851 by Frederic Scott Archer.
Making such a picture is a long process. Starting with the composition of the chemicals, further on the preparation of the substrate, whether glass or aluminum plate, up to the act of photographing. This lasts between 5 to 30 seconds. In the development and fixation one can then watch fascinated as the picture comes slowly, as if by magic, to the fore. Every picture is unique and unique.
