I've been eating in Roy's since he opened in Hawaii Kai in 1985. We keep going back. I've eaten in several of his restaurants including New York City when Roy was in the World Trade Center area.

Another short walk down the beach to this fun place fronting the beach. Look for coupon specials in the local guidebooks. Karaoke some evenings and other entertainment. Breakfast buffet.

Run by Brigham Young University this attraction provides a good insight into Polynesian culture and history. The luau serves many guests but attempts to honor traditions and explain the respect the Hawaiians had for the animals and fish they ate. They also have a theatre with a later in the evening performance. If you do all prepare to spend the whole day. Driving in the dark can be challenging if you have never driven in Hawaii at night. Much is outdoors but light rain never bothers me. Although many tourists come here it is a cut above being touristy.
