If you drive out to the interpretive site on the Gulch road you will find there is an outdoor cookstove so if you bring some wood you can cook a meal and enjoy the amazing ambiance!

There is a great hike out to the Cape Pine lighthouse. Visiting the tiny village of St. Shott's is well worth the detour off the main Irish Loop drive. More opportunity to sight caribou too :)

I first visited this site in 2003 and was stunned to find out that it is likely my ancestors that helped colonize this site. There's a great gift shop here too.

There is a lovely tiny town replica of the resettled community of Oderin here. It's hard to find since it is not signed. It is on the main road - ask a local where it is if you miss it!

This beach is one of the most beautiful in North America according to National Geographic and my guest room overlooks it!

This is a lovely village with a history that includes being a stop point for the Mayflower voyage of 1620. Ask a local where the replica of Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto is!

This is magical place where you hear the 1000s of nesting gannets as soon as you get out of your car! They also have a performance series that is excellent.

There is a large sign identifying the garden once you enter Riverhead from the north. The test plots for quinoa are grown here. They are the large plots at the back of the garden. Check them out!

There is a great hike that takes you to the site of an old fishing village that was destroyed in terrible storm in 1966.

This is a lovely spot to have lunch or a coffee.
The food here is excellent and the owners are lovely. The chicken caesar wrap is quite good with their amazing seafood chowder! Excellent french fries too.

The food here is excellent and if you call and book ahead make sure you ask for a windowside table. This place is only 20 minutes away from me so it's a perfect place to stop for supper!

This is a golf course/resort/restaurant and the food here is quite good. They have a 2 km trek that is a nice way to warm up your appetite too!

These are the best baked goods on the shore! Open daily Tues - Sat 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Have a tea/coffee/snack on the outside patio. Ask the owner for her binoculars to spot the sheep on the island!
