East Hill Cliff Railway, or East Hill Lift, is a funicular railway located in the Old Town. It provides access to Hastings Country Park via the East Hill, which overlooks the Old Town and Rock-a-Nore, an area to the east of Hastings.

A one minute walk from where you are staying, a beautiful early morning start to your day with a stroll through this Victorian Park. An abundance of wildlife with it’s wonderful streams, ponds and beautiful flowers especially the rose gardens. You can also grab a coffee from the cafe situated near the bandstand.

About a ten minute walk from where you are staying up a good number of steps to the Westhill you will find the Smugglers Adventure. Acres of caverns that conceal the thrilling history of smugglers, bootleggers and warring bloodthirsty gangs.

Food scene
Hastings Pier was built in 1872 and enjoying its prime in the 1930s, it became a popular music venue in the 1960s. The structure suffered major storm damage in 1990, and was closed to the public for a time before closing completely in 2008 and 95% destroyed by a fire in 2010. Hastings Pier Charity oversaw a rebuilding project, with the pier reopening on 27 April 2016. Today you can enjoy a great beer and food whilst soaking up the sun a view’s.
