Fun little historical visit with a bar on top (I don't there's much food). A great view of downtown - I prefer it over the Space Needle but the neighborhood isn't super safe. There is a small entry fee I think.

Fun place to take kids and see the boats go through the locks, then the salmon swim up the fish ladder (in the Summer). There are nice gardens at the entrance that are perfect for a picnic. FREE

The tour is so fun (kids need to be 6 or older) but books up fast and you probably need to make it months in advance. But you can still pop by the storefront and taste samples and smell all the good smells!

Our little rocky beach down the street. It's a long walk for small kids but a good walk with a hill for a fit adult. You can walk past the park down what is a shared driveway for the houses on the water there and it will take you to a gravel path and another beach - this is the beginning of Lincoln park and the way to get to Colman pool (a saltwater pool open in the Summer!)

You can walk past the park down what is a shared driveway for the houses on the water there and it will take you to a gravel path and another beach - this is the beginning of Lincoln park and the way to get to Colman pool (a saltwater pool open in the Summer!)

Search for hikes (we have a guidebook if you want to borrow it), berry picking, and pumpkin patches out near Issaquah. These destinations will be about an hour so they are good for an active morning and kid nap on the way home - but beware of commuter traffic time during the week! Issaquah also has a PCC that I like to stop at for healthy pre-made lunch or hiking snacks with the kids.
