Karlstrup Kalkgrav is a recreational nature area in Solrød Municipality - near the village Karlstrup approx. 6 miles north of Koge. For many years, lime was mined on the site, where there is now a lake with steep limestone slopes all around. The limestone quarry is designated as a special geological area of interest with traces of fossils from the time when the dinosaurs became extinct 65 million years ago. Together with Firemileskoven and Karlslunde, Karlstrup and Engstrup Moser, the area is also called Karlstrup Skov.
