Take at right leaving the driveway; continue on Liberty Street to a 3-Stop sign. Turn right on Glenwood Ave, the right again onto High St, at the light. The entrance to The Big Y is on the right. It has excellent produce, bakery, cheese, meat, fish and deli departments, and also carries an extensive array of foods made locally.

Walt’s Market on Main St. in Old Saybrook is an excellent, and very traditional butcher shop and small grocery store. They have a wide array of wine and alcohol, covering all price points. Well worth the short drive to Madison. There are also plenty of good package stores up and down Rt. 1.
