Alta is a skier only resort located just above Snowbird in LCC. I think that it is one of the best resorts to teach a beginner skier. It has a ton of beginner terrain with still enough advanced terrain to be interesting.

Great resort for park skiing and snowboarding. Located up BCC it has pretty good terrain and some of the best night skiing around.

8302 S Brighton Loop RdGreat resort for park skiing and snowboarding. Located up BCC it has pretty good terrain and some of the best night skiing around.
Solitude is a smaller resort but does have a nice feel. It does get a bit crowded because it is unlimited skiing for the IKON pass. I really like the base lodge.

Snowbasin is my second favorite resort in Utah. The facilities are top-notch. You won't find as nice as lodges anywhere else. They have a number of wonderful gondolas and tons of beginner and intermediate tree skiing.
