Kalami beach, in the northern part of Corfu, is a well-known, popular beach, both with tourists as with the locals. It is literally a scenery made for film-making. It was featured in “Tycoon”, starring Anthony Quinn and Jaqueline Bisset in 1978, as well as in the James Bond movie “For Your Eyes Only”, starring Roger Moore in 1981, not to mention countless documentaries and the latest ITV production of the series “The Durrells”, which featured the life of the Durrell family on Corfu island.

Just a 5-minute drive from Sunlight Villa, the neighboring village of Gimari is located next to the popular areas of Kalami and Kouloura, at the north-eastern side of the island. This is where you can take a stroll through the picturesque streets of the village, which is mounted on the hillside over the sea with fantastic views of the neighboring coves and beaches. In Gimari, just by the roadside, you can visit the church of St. Konstantinos and Eleni which is built with a traditional bell tower and is still in operation. The village is located on the main road Kalami – Corfu and it is easily accessible. Distance from Corfu City: 26 km.

32 km from the Villa. With beautiful crystalline waters, the Channel of Love is one of the most unique spots in Corfu. According to the tradition, couples who swim through the narrow canal will get married soon. The beach is not recommended when it is windy.

Kerasia Beach
Just 5 minutes by car from our Sunlight Villa in Corfu, along the Ionia Sea coastline, with amazing views of lovely small coves and secluded beaches, Kerasia beach is located at the end of an evergreen olive grove. The contrast of the emerald greenery and the turquoise Ionian Sea will embrace you for moments of perfect relaxation under the cool shade of the trees. It is also an ideal spot for snorkeling or scuba diving, as the underwater world at the north east Corfu coastline is one of the richest and most diverse areas in Corfu island.

Agios Stefanos Beach and village
Agios Stefanos Beach is a small picturesque cove less than a 5-min drive from our Sunlight Villa. It used to be a fishermen’s village and still retains a small anchorage for fishing boats, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea as you watch the boats come in with their fresh catch early in the morning. The beach has small pebbles and the transparent waters are safe for small children. The local tavernas at the seafront offer fresh seafood cooked in Corfiot style. So, within easy reach of our Sunlight Villa, enjoy carefree splashing in the water and Corfiot specialties in one!

Gialiskari Beach
It is a picturesque sandy beach. White rock formations, the endless sapphire blue of the Ionian Sea, and the evergreen lush vegetation, which embraces the small bay, create a landscape of unparalleled natural beauty. This is where you may feel as a modern castaway. Enjoy swimming or snorkeling along the coast and watch the yachts go past, sailing in the turquoise waters. Being off the beaten track, the beach does not offer any facilities and it is a bit tricky to access, but it is definitely worth the visit.
