Expensive, but the lodge often has great weekly deals with set priced menus ($35 a person for 3-course meal). The room will have updated menus for you to view during your stay! $$-$$$$

World-famous Nobu sushi. We've never been there (we wish!), but it comes highly rated and is a huge celebrity draw if you're into that sort of thing. $$$$

WE LOVE this place, it's a real gem hidden in the hills (like saddle peak but way less fussy, more fun and laid back!). Once the local Country Store and official post office in the early 1900's, The Old Place honors this bit of history by keeping the old sorting table from the post office, complete with the residents’ names and uses it as a center point in a private dining room known as the Mail Room. Giant steaks, giant potatoes, great fish, great bar - all for good prices! We recommend reservations because it's a popular spot! $$

We've been going here for 20 years and spend at least one of our birthdays here every year - we LOVE this place. Great for big parties, or just the two of you. The food is amazing (take home left-overs!), the staff is great and we always have a lot of fun here. $$

The cheese is incredible; we love their cheese & meat plates. If you love wine and cheese, or if you don't know anything about wine and cheese, this place is still so much fun to eat and learn! No pretension what-so-ever, while still knowing their stuff. Wednesday nights have live music.

If you're looking for the weirder side of LA, this is always a recommendation! Between muscle beach, skatepark and drum circles, the boardwalk is a great place to people watch! Very fun for all sorts and lots to do. Rollerblading and speedos are likely; it's never boring on the boardwalk!

10 min drive, coveted mountain biking, running & hiking trail. Gorgeous old oaks and grassy meadows. Well-maintained trails, and quite an assortment of loops, trails, terrain, etc. Definitely recommended.
