This sleepy fishing village has unmatched views (the rock, the stacks, otters and seals). They also have some of the freshest seafood, while the shops along the Embarcadero are fun to explore. Leaving Olive Tree Cottages, you drive up Highway One about 30 minutes to get to the Embarcadero.

Cowboy country meets world class wine region describes this cute turn of the century downtown Paso Robles. Located 45 minutes up Highway 101 North from Olive Tree Cottages, the oak studded hills with occasional longhorn sighting is a picturesque drive.

The village of Arroyo Grande is very akin to Mayberry RFD. Park and walk - great restaurants, fun shops, roosters in the park, swinging bridge, ice cream lab! Ten minute drive from Olive Tree Cottages, they have parking behind most shops.
Food scene
Hands down, the best restaurant on the central coast. Make reservations - expensive and absolutely worth it. Their chef is top notch and the pastry chef is superb!

The best place to grab a picnic lunch (or a dinner) to eat on the beach or at a winery. They make their own mozzarella (need I say more?) Amazing selection of specialty foods, baked goods and wine.

Most Thursday nights from 6-9pm. The first Thursday of the month, stay until after 9 to watch the crazy bicyclists do their own downtown parade.
