A beautiful medieval village, with some great little boutiques, shops, pubs and restaurants dotted around the high street. Check out The Talbot for nice food and drinks, or the Cuckfield Tea Room for afternoon teas and hot drinks.

A beautiful village on the outskirts of Haywards Heath, Lindfield has a number of great little spots for an afternoon of eating and drinking. The highstreet boasts The Limes Thai Cafe, Slake Cafe (my friends claim it to be the best cafe in the South East!), and a whole host of brilliant village pubs - try the Standup, it's my favourite!

Lindfield

The highstreet boasts The Limes Thai Cafe, Slake Cafe (my friends claim it to be the best cafe in the South East!), and a whole host of brilliant village pubs - try the Standup, it's my favourite!
A sleepy commuter town that isn't the most lively place in the world. There's the full range of large supermarkets here though - a huge Sainsburys, Waitrose and a large Tesco Local - more importantly, there's regular trains from London through to Brighton allowing you to explore further afield!

Sightseeing
A beautiful Kew property. Home to the Millennium Seed Bank, as well as the main house and a huge garden. It's perfect for a day out with the kids, and they do great food in the cafe there too. Please check their website as they regularly hold workshops and events for both kids and adults.

National Trust Property within walking distance from the site (it is not a short walk!). Set amongst the ruins of Nymans House, the gardens are incredibly well maintained. There's a tearoom, a pub over the road and a lovely woodland walking loop around the outside.

Food scene
The Wine Estate at Bolney is fantastic. It's a beautiful setting, and the team there have done a fantastic job. They offer tours, wine tasting and they also have a Cafe too. It's a short drive from the site, and was extremely popular with our campers last year.

Matt Gillan's Heritage restaurant in Slaugham is a true local favourite for top-quality eating. He's a former Great British Menu winner - you can try his famous Goat Dish at the Heritage - and the village of Slaugham is only a short drive from the site.

Our local pub - it's annoyingly only open Thursday - Sunday, but the setting is lovely. Pop down on a Saturday for food and drinks while watching cricket on the village green. The food is good, and they have a decent selection of drinks.
