My Chosen Cafe is our local country restaurant that has indoor and outdoor seating options. It has large portions of yummy food for any meal, with all day breakfast options if you find yourself sleeping in while on vacation. They also have some cute country animals out back to say hi to (goats, chickens, rabbits and a donkey.)

By far the best pizza around and the bonus is they deliver to our house! (It’s the only delivery we have out in these parts).

The Sugar Shack has coffee, sweets and desserts, sandwiches-to-go and don’t forget the ice-cream! Check out the locally made gifts and souvenirs while you’re there.

Kai’s Farm is a local farmer named IB Jensen, who grows the most beautiful produce around. His farm is open daily from May to the end of September/beginning of October. Please tell him we sent you if you go!

Matheson Lake is a beautiful spring fed, clear lake that is great for swimming, paddle boarding and floating about. It has a designated beach that is perfect foe families with small children, as well as numerous entry/sit spots along the lake for people to enjoy. It has a moderate level 5km forested hike around the lake as well as boarders the Galloping Goose Trail which is a wide, flat multi-user group trail that is perfect for leisurely strolls and bike rides. This is a very dog friendly space (off leash and on leash areas) and one of our favourites!

1052 Taylor RdTaylor Beach is the perfect spot to spend time relaxing by the Pacific Ocean. It has easy access to the beach with a endless smooth rocks & drift wood seating to rest upon and ponder life. We highly suggest bringing a book and cup of coffee!
Weirs Beach offers a nice smooth sand beach to casually walk. There is a more advanced hiking trail along the ocean (to the left of the beach) that runs from Weirs Beach to Taylor Beach, roughly 3km there and back. It has great views is the Pacific Ocean. Please research this hike before going to know where the trails runs and be mindful of hiking on others property.
