Worth checking the schedule on their website. Sometimes you can get last minute concert tickets and of course The Races! Burgers and hotdogs - Sam Houston Race Park also hosts a variety of events from summertime fairs to the biggest Christmas light display you will ever see in November/December! (Halloween Too!)

A must see to understand exactly how BIG Houston is - From the 60th Floor! The Chase Tower offers a Free (Last I checked) observation deck with a birds eye view! There are also underground shopping tunnels accessible from within the same building. A great way to explore the town!
