Cork town named among Europe’s most beautiful small towns – plenty of reasons to visit Cobh is known for being the Titanic’s last port of call before setting off on its fateful voyage. Previously called Queenstown, it boasts a wealth of history and attracts thousands of visitors annually. Caitlin Morton ranked the town among the most beautiful small towns in Europe. She wrote, “Cobh redefines charming with its rows of candy-coloured homes along the water and towering cathedral standing sentry over the harbour. “This town is particularly popular with cruise-lovers – about 60 ships stop there every year. In fact, Cobh was the final port of call for the RMS Titanic, and a commemorative museum stands in the city today.” Cobh was the last port of call for the Titanic and is now synonymous with the town. Make the short crossing to Spike Island and learn about our most infamous prisoners, who were shipped off to distant lands. Plan a visit to the historic Cobh and discover this amazing port town. Approximately 25 mins drive from Cork City, the train goes by frequently. Cobh is also very famous for it's row of colourful houses known as the Deck of Cards, lined along a street with the impressive St Colman’s Cathedral in the background. https://www.theirishroadtrip.com/things-to-do-in-cobh/
