This is where alternative lives experiments were happening on the west side of the wall. Today Kreuzberg is an interesting mix of old a new Berlin. This is where youngsters usually end up when they move to Berlin for the first time. The young internationals and the existing Turkish community mix in a way that is not always harmonious but that allow learning and exploring. My favourite places are the so-called "Kreuzkölln" area on the south side of the Maybachufer for cafe and restaurants, Weserstraße for late-night bars and around Herrfurthplatz and Templehof to visit during the day and check out how the life is growing around the old nazi airport.

My favourite Chinese restaurant in town. If you love Chinese and spicy food, this is the place for you. 5min for my flat by foot. Have the fried Aubergines and the beef or fish roasted in chilli oil and garlic. You will not regret!

I know... You have to be lucky to catch a sunny day and swimming in a lake is not like doing the same thing in the ocean. Nevertheless, here you can enjoy the day laying on a sandy beach and it is only 15min away with the tram from my place. Not bad!
