The Riverview, Spring Hollow, Buck Ridge, and Rock Wall Trails can all be accessed from the Tyler Bend Visitor Center and Campground Area. Get a dose of history by hiking to the Collier Homestead, a restored Ozark dwelling from the 1930’s. There is a covered pavilion area and many picnic tables surrounding that area with beautiful river views.

Lost Valley trail is the most popular trail on the Buffalo River. It is about 1 hour and 10 minutes from the cabin. The trail follows along Clark Creek past several Natural Bridges to the end destination of Eden Falls (53 ft) and Cobb Cave. It is an easy to moderate hike with lots of benches at the beginning of the trail for resting and relaxing. It is great for families, however there are steep bluffs from the Falls to the Cave, so keep little ones close. If you have a flashlight and are adventurous, you can crawl through the cave and see a 25 ft waterfall in the back chamber. If you search the Lost Valley Trailhead on the internet and click on the National Park Service Page they have a map and more detailed description of the trail. From the road by the cabin turn right onto Hwy 333, turn right onto US 65 N and go 15 miles, turn left onto AR-123 S and go 8.7 miles, turn right onto Low Water Bridge Rd and go 4.6 miles, turn right onto AR-74 W and go 4.7 miles, turn right onto Court St and go 500 ft, turn left on AR-74 W and go 14 miles, turn left onto AR-43 S and go 1 mile, turn right onto Lost Valley Rd and go 0.6 miles, the parking lot is on your left. If full during the busy spring and summer season, I believe there is overflow parking to the right. I suggest going early in the day to beat the rush and be able to park in the closest parking lot to the trail.

Whitaker Point, also known as Hawksbill Crag is a 2.9 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail that offers a spectacular view of the Ozark National Forest. There is even a waterfall along the trail, but watch out, as the trail veers off a little to the right to view the waterfall. It is about a 1 hour 40 minute drive from the cabin. It is one of Arkansas' most photographed spots. It is considered moderate, but our kids are able to do it with no problem and it is accessible year round. The drive does include a rougher gravel road that gets steep at times. I recommend a 4 wheel drive SUV or truck, or at least vehicles that sit higher off the ground; however, we have seen small cars go slow and make it up to the parking area. It just depends on if you don't mind taking your vehicle on a pretty rough gravel road. Cell service is spotty on the way, so I would pull up directions and screenshot them so you know how to get there if you lose service. You can use the following ones or search on the internet for Maps. From the road by the cabin turn right onto Hwy 333, then turn right onto US-65 N and go 15 miles, turn left onto AR-123 S and go 8.7 miles, turn right onto Low Water Bridge Rd and go 4.6 miles, turn right onto AR-74 W and go 4.7 miles, turn right onto Court St and go 500 ft, turn left onto AR- 74 W and go 14 miles, turn left onto AR-43 S and go 5.5 miles, turn right onto Co Rd 5 and go 5.8 miles on the rougher gravel road, slight left onto Co Rd 406 and go 1.1 mile. Parking area is by Trailhead. If lot is full, you can park on road, but do not block road. The Trailhead is to the left and starts at white marker. If you have lots of time left in the day and want another shorter hike, check out Lost Valley Trailhead, its pretty close by.

We are less than 5 minutes from the Buffalo National River. Activities near the river include floating, hiking, sightseeing, and viewing the stars. Our cabin is located in the area referred to as an International Dark Sky Park. This means there is not the light pollution that you will see in cities and other towns, which makes it a great place to view the sky at night and watch the stars while relaxing in nature. Check out the stars from the front porch or fire pit area by the cabin. You have never seen so many stars! https://www.darksky.org/our-work/conservation/idsp/parks/buffalo-national-river-u-s/

Some of the places to visit include Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, Cosmic Cavern, Eureka Springs & North Arkansas Railway, Crescent Hotel Ghost Tours, and Christ of the Ozarks (a 65ft. statue of Jesus-which can be seen from just about anywhere in Eureka Springs).
