The harbour is overlooked by the iconic Ocean Beach Hotel, established in 1929, the small harbour is a focal point with beaches on both sides. A short drive south of Kiama is pretty Gerringong and Werri Beach, another top surfing beach. You can walk or cycle from Gerringong railway station to the beach. Point breaks are at either end of the beach and there’s a beachside holiday park. At the southern end is Ourie Pool, a rock pool built in the 1930s.
Another gorgeous sea pool is the Boat Harbour Rock Pool, which is south of the whale-watching platform and near Cooke Park’s barbecue facilities and picnic tables. In town on Fern Street, you’ll also find Gerringong surf gear and beachwear institution, the family-run Natural Necessity Surf Shop.
One of the best beaches to learn to surf is Seven Mile Beach in enchanting Gerroa, south of Gerringong. Gerringong
A short drive south of Kiama is pretty Gerringong and Werri Beach, another top surfing beach. You can walk or cycle from Gerringong railway station to the beach. Point breaks are at either end of the beach and there’s a beachside holiday park. At the southern end is Ourie Pool, a rock pool built in the 1930s.
Another gorgeous sea pool is the Boat Harbour Rock Pool, which is south of the whale-watching platform and near Cooke Park’s barbecue facilities and picnic tables. In town on Fern Street, you’ll also find Gerringong surf gear and beachwear institution, the family-run Natural Necessity Surf Shop.

After crossing the bridge, continue along the trail back to Barren Grounds picnic area.

The Sea Cliff Bridge is accessible via public transport. Coalcliff station has trains running seven days a week. There is a steep incline from the train station to the bridge; the walk will take approximately 15 minutes from station to bridge.

There is ample easy access parking for coaches and the facility is a flat site with no steps.

Deep beneath the lookout lies a series of fortifications, established at the beginning of World War II. These fortifications housed large guns which were put in place to protect the vital industrial centre of Port Kembla. Although there are no longer any large guns here the concrete bunkers can be clearly seen.
