Located 15 miles south of (and 180° opposite) the Resort Area of Virginia Beach, Sandbridge is a secluded beach hideaway of 5 miles of pristine sand dunes and dancing sea oats. It is a relaxing and peaceful community where you can truly slow down and unwind on your vacation. Beachside, the Atlantic never fails to entertain. And for those craving even more of the great outdoors, the marshes and open waters of Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge and False Cape State Park make for great kayaking, hiking, and fishing.

The beach community is bordered on the south by Shore Drive. Come by and explore over 800,000 gallons of one of the best aquariums in the country. From hundreds of hands-on exhibits to their National Geographic 3D Theater, it’s hard to fit all that the Virginia Aquarium has to offer into just one trip with hands-on exhibits, marshlands, and a nature trail. Enjoy this 1/3 mile walk along scenic Owls Creek. With outlook posts and sweeping views of the protected salt marsh, the Nature Trail is a beautiful walk through the woods.
