Sunriver is the Pacific Northwest’s premier destination resort and residential community, as well as Central Oregon’s year-round base camp for adventure, group retreats, and family fun. From spring through fall, Sunriver Resort’s superior golf courses shine. The resort is home to 63 holes of world-class golf, including the famed Crosswater Club, a Golf Digest Top 100 course. In Sunriver, families can spend the day riding bikes along 30 miles of paved trails, going on a guided horseback ride or visiting the Sunriver Nature Center, Oregon Observatory, High Desert Museum or Lava Lands Visitors Center, where the first astronauts trained to talk on the moon. The Village at Sunriver hosts a variety of shops, restaurants, breweries and art galleries. In winter, the Village at Sunriver offers ice skating.

One of the best spots to take the kids (and kids at heart) sledding and tubing: Wanoga Sno-Park on Hwy 46 / Cascade Lakes Highway, about a 20 minute drive from Sunriver Resort. Wanoga Sno-Park is equipped with a large warming hut with wood stove. Bring a picnic lunch and a thermos of hot chocolate. The entire Sno-Park is dog friendly.

A Sunriver summertime tradition is exploring the Deschutes River on an innertube, raft, canoe, kayak or stand-up paddleboard. The Deschutes River in the Sunriver area runs wide and gentle through gorgeous mountain scenery, with good wildlife viewing opportunities. This part of the river is rated Class 1 moving water with riffles, minor waves and few or no obstructions.
The Sunriver Resort operates a commercial marina at River Mile 188.2 off River Road. The public and guests of the Resort must rent boats from the marina to utilize this facility. Boat rental fees include a shuttle ride back from the Canoe Takeout at River Mile 182.0.
The Sunriver Owners Association operates a private launch and parking area at River Mile 188.2. Access to this facility is restricted to Sunriver homeowners and their guests. Only those with updated Member Preference and Recreation Plus access cards issued by the homeowner’s association will be able to utilize this facility. (SHARC passes included with this home)
