The entrance to the UW Arboretum is near our home - it’s within doable biking distance :) 1,200 acres of preserved prairies / forests / wetlands with 17 miles of walking trails. Free admission.

Lovely Lake Wingra is within walking distance but you could bike around it including the Arboretum as a very doable loop.

The Lake Monona Bike Loop is accessible from the bike path running through our back yard. We highly recommend taking a few hours to do this if you’re up for this type of sightseeing - it’ll be about 20 miles(ish).

This is not just for students - everyone in Madison loves hanging out here :) Gorgeous Lake Mendota views with beers and many food options. Try Babcock ice cream there (produced from the cows on campus, no joke)!
