Our secret is fresh ingredients spiced with our local taste. We use wholesome ingredients to create authentic dishes that you love because everyone should have two things in life: healthy food and happy hearts. Come share our love of food and experience healthy, delicious dishes that nourish not just your body, but your heart.

Paynes Prairie is unique in many ways. Nowhere else in Florida can visitors experience wild-roaming bison and horses. Nearly 300 species of birds also frequent the park along with alligators, deer and many other animals. The park’s eight trails, including the 16-mile paved Gainesville-Hawthorne State Trail, allow one to explore the park’s interior and observe wildlife, while a 50-foot high observation tower provides for panoramic views. During a visit to Paynes Prairie, one can easily understand why Seminole Indians once occupied a village along this vast savannah.

Lake Alice is a small lake on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville, Florida, United States. The lake is a wildlife area and is one of the few areas in incorporated Gainesville where one may view live alligators. The lake also harbors a population of Florida softshell turtles. While you can’t swim in the water, you can observe all of the birds, turtles, possums and alligators that slink around the shore. There are several walking trails and viewing decks to help you get a better look. The Baughman Center is a beautiful chapel made with cypress wood and floor-to-ceiling windows that reflect the light of the lake, and many people wind up wandering inside for private prayer or meditation.

Devil's Millhopper Geological State Park is a National Natural Landmark has attracted curious visitors since the 1880s. In the midst of North Florida's sandy terrain and pine forests, a bowl-shaped cavity 120 feet deep leads down to a miniature rain forest. Small streams trickle down the steep slopes of the limestone sinkhole, disappearing through crevices in the ground. Lush vegetation thrives in the shade of the walls even in dry summers. Researchers have learned a great deal about Florida's natural history by studying fossil shark teeth, marine shells and the fossilized remains of extinct land animals found in the sink. Visitors can enjoy picnicking and learn more about the sinkhole through interpretive displays.

We opened our doors in July 2007 in a 1910 cracker style house on Cholokka Boulevard in Micanopy. As a family-owned and operated business, the store is a little like an old general store with locally-produced and/or handmade items such as fair trade market baskets, soy candles, handmade soaps, local heirloom vegetable seeds, locally made homemade jellies and pickles and honey. We want to make natural, organic and sustainable living products available for those who want to live a simpler life and lessen their impact on the environment. We stock a small selection of books about permaculture, gardening, earth-oven building, baking artisan bread and cheese-making. In 2008, we built an outdoor wood-fired brick oven and began baking organic artisan sourdough bread for sale on weekends in our shop. In 2010, we renovated our space to include a full coffee and espresso bar and an array of fresh sweet pastries, decadent brownies, savory pastries and quiches baked in house daily. We like to chat and welcome you for a visit.
