The closest town to property - the main street is a great way to spend an afternoon wine tasting and shopping at little boutiques! We like grabbing take out from Cavana and eating at the little park right on Sutter Creek, but Gold Rush Pizza also has a great outside area overlooking the creek as well.

Enjoy swimming in the refreshing Mokelumne River and relax on sandy beaches. Electra Road is mostly one lane and can take some navigation skills when it's busy.

Supposedly haunted - Preston Castle was constructed in 1894 as a reform school for boys. The Romanesque Revival style of architecture was to make the building look like a school rather than a prison.

The trail is not well marked, but pretty easy to find and park nearby along Fiddletown Road, near the junction with Shake Ridge Road. Trail leads to a bunch of forest roads with some cut-off single tracks. Fire roads lead down to the river running below. Up the other side are single track trails and views. Up to an 11-mile hike altogether.

It's a three hour drive, but if you have the time, Yosemite is always an amazing experience.
