Tavolara is known as the smallest kingdom in the world. It is a limestone and granite mountain that rises from the sea, 560 meters high, four kilometers long, characterized by impervious rocks, with an imposing and vertiginous verticality and splendid chromatic tones.
The island, with an elongated and almost flat shape, is the fulcrum, as well as the characterizing symbol of an unforgettable spectacle: the marine protected area of Tavolara-and the archipelago. 15 thousand hectares on crystalline waters, which includes Molara and Molarotto.

Near the Castle of Pedres there is a tomb of the giants, the ancient burial as from the Nuragic era. Like the other tombs of the giants, it consists of a longitudinal structure covered by horizontal slabs and an exedra designed by vertical slabs.
This monument can also be accessed freely and without paying a ticket.

It presents the typical geometric construction of sacred wells from the Nuragic era with a stairway descending towards the well, between two walls of perfectly squared blocks and projecting inwards to form a conical roof. The well, now not accessible, is a covered tholos area.
