Neighbourhood

You will quickly notice that many of the neighbours have farm animals. Something to be aware of if you bring your pet and they are not accustomed to seeing horses and lamas. You might even see people riding horses down the street so just something to be aware of. The neighbourhood is very sensitive to speeding vehicles. When coming and going please do not drive more than 50km if you need to and when you see people, dogs or horses walking please slow right down to 30km for everyone safety. Wildlife We are in bear country. In the spring to fall the likelihood of seeing a bear is high. They will not bother you and generally do not care about you. Never approach a bear and certainly not one with cubs. If you encounter a bear remember these tips: - DO NOT RUN. Bears have an instinct to chase so if you run there’s a good chance they will run after you. - Do not turn you back on a bear. Slowly walk away backwards. - Make noise, clap your hands. - Put your arms in the air to make yourself look large. - Do not feed the bears or leave any food outside overnight. *We have provided a bear bell and bear spray for you to take on the forest trails. We always carry our bear spray to be safe although we have never had to use it. We are in the mountains and forest so the other types of wildlife living in the area are grouse (their wings always startle me as they fly away), coyotes, cougars and lots of owls, hence the name Owl Ridge! You will hear owls at night if you’re lying in bed wondering what all that hoot hoot hoot hooooot is outside it’s the owls.

City/town information

This beautiful custom built home sits on a sunny 5 acres in the Owl Ridge subdivision with a view of the incredible Mount Currie. It’s located just 15m minutes from Pemberton and 40 minutes from Whistler. Our favourite feature about this property is that it’s secluded and private from the rest of the neighbourhood, which is already remote in and of itself.
