A set of historic rock-cut caves about a 30 minute drive from The Homecoming the Kondana Caves are definitely a visit. From the near by town of Kondana the caves are an hour long trek which are situated at the base of a waterfall. There are several testaments to different styles of Buddhist architecture such as sculptures, viharas, chatiyas, and stupas

The best time to visit is right after the monsoon season for a clear view in the newly lush surroundings.
