There is a restaurant bar upstairs with incredible views of the Mount whilst downstairs the Well Bar serves St Austell ales and has a pool table and sports TV. The sheltered beer garden is a suntrap and offers the most fabulous views of Mounts Bay and St Michaels Mount. The ethos of the Fire Engine is to provide really good pub food at sensible prices, or drinks only served in the Well Bar.

The Porthcurno Telegraph Museum was recently ranked as one of the Top 50 Museums in the UK by the Independent Newspaper. The first Trans- Atlantic telegraph cables were laid from Porthcurno in the late 1800’s. Visit the museum which also includes underground tunnels excavated in 1941, to see how this small Cornish village played a major part in World telecommunications and its vital role in the 2nd World War. Great for children & adults alike.
