Good cool weather walking/trail running when the Cascade Mountains are too snowy. Flat Iron Rock and Dry Canyon are pretty flat, but interesting trails. Hot and exposed in the summer though!

10 min drive will get you most anywhere in Bend
not much in the way of public transport options. the apartment is on the north side of town, short drive to most everything in town, 20-45 min drive to mountains, waterfalls, hiking, everything you might want. Plenty of trails and hiking in town as well.
