If you're looking for something closer that has an element of mystique then picnic island is where the families go when you don't want to fight traffic. There are marshes to be explored, beaches to sprawl out on, and even a top-notch disc golf course to throw.

There are marshes to be explored, beaches to sprawl out on, and even a top-notch disc golf course to throw.

Zoo Tampa has some incredible creatures. National Geographic just shot a season here featuring some of the animals the zoo keepers are working with. They're doing amazing things there that are worth the visit. If you do go, I highly encourage doing an "animal encounter". This lets you get up close an personal with them and makes the trip into a life long memory.

1101 W Sligh AveZoo Tampa has some incredible creatures. National Geographic just shot a season here featuring some of the animals the zoo keepers are working with. They're doing amazing things there that are worth the visit. If you do go, I highly encourage doing an "animal encounter". This lets you get up close an personal with them and makes the trip into a life long memory.
