Parks & Nature

One of the best place to visit. In front of the beach, you can see the islet of Tuerredda, easily reachable by boat, kayak and even by swimming if you are keen (but beware of the currents that can be quite strong!). The islet is surrounded by clear emerald and blue waters and are populated by marine life and flora, a perfect spot for snorkeling. Tuerredda beach also has two bathhouses where you can rent beach umbrellas, sun beds, small zodiacs and pedal boats. Both have a café, where you can have something to drink or eat, and showers. Lifeguards are on service in both. Since Tuerredda has limited access, if you want to bring your own beach umbrella and take a spot on the free beach, I suggest you go there as early as possible to secure a spot. The beach opens at 9:00 am. You can also check on the official website to see if anything is available (they update data on a regular basis to give information on how many spots are available). That site also allows you to see how many spots are available at the bathhouses, so if you are going very last minute you may want to give them a call to reserve a spot. In fact, the only way you can secure a spot at the beach is if you have a reservation at one of the bathhouses.

Chia Beach is one of the best beaches in the province of Cagliari. The blue-turquoise sea and sometimes peach-colored sand you’ll often find at Aruba beaches are famous and a big reason to visit this pocket of Sardinia. There are dunes, too, dotted with juniper trees. Chia Beach is also famed for its wildlife spotting opportunities and is perfect for families with children. Behind the beach, you’ll find a picturesque lagoon where pink flamingos come to breed. Sometimes, dolphins head to Chia Beach and can be seen swimming out to sea. And there’s more! The Torre di Chia is an excellent viewpoint worth the walk and ideal for some souvenir photos. You can also walk to the island at Su Giudeu from this bay and enjoy the beach. Or why not spend time at the Baia Chia restaurant on this beach? Campana Dune is another famous beach famous for its 20 meters high dunes. You’ll discover Su Portu, popular with families and windsurfers just east of Chia Beach. If you like the outdoors, then Chia is the perfect destination. You’ll find all kinds of water sports in this area, and the Chia Classic attracts visitors yearly for the kitesurfing competition. As well as kitesurfing, you’ll find kayaking, snorkeling, and sailing in and around Chia Beach. Other activities include windsurfing at Su Portu, paddle boating, and surfing. Su Giudeu is one of the best beaches for water sports, including surfing, scuba diving, and snorkeling. You’ll also find horse riding in this area, and there are some fantastic rides close to the resorts and in the neighboring countryside. Walkers will discover some beautiful trails in and around Chia with spectacular views. Bike rental is available, too, and is an excellent way to get around the area. There are several golf courses around Chia, which are very popular with visitors to the area. Chia is far enough away from Cagliari to be a peaceful place for a vacation but near enough for a day visit.

Human intervention, with indiscriminate cutting, intensive grazing and fires, has risked compromising the balance, but after being taken away from private owners in 1903 and managed by state government, which started its recovery, it is now among the most florid natural sites in southern Sardinia. Is Cannoneris, a hikers' paradise and a place of mysterious tales of reality mixed with fantasy, extends for approximately 4800 hectares in the territory of Domus de Maria, Pula, Teulada and Villa San Pietro. Its surface area is doubled when including the forest of Pixinamanna, to which it is connected. It is also on the border of Gutturu Mannu, the oasis of Pantaleo and mount Nieddu, green areas that are part of the proposal to create a Sulcis nature park. The forest is a protected wildlife oasis: after becoming state property again, it was repopulated with Corsican red deer and fallow deer that inhabit the area, along with wild boar, weasels, dormice and foxes. When you look up you might be surprised to see the flight of the golden eagle, the common raven, the peregrine falcon and the kestrel. The maximum height is 979 metres, at the top of Punta Sebera, which dominates a large part of the gulf of Cagliari and the southwestern coast as far as Portoscuso, as well as the surrounding forests. The attractive nature and landscape is endless: evocative rock formations can be found in the central-northern part, particularly the sheer rock faces of Calamixi, a wild and legendary place, set between centuries-old trees and steep cliffs, populated - according to popular belief - by bandits, witches and hidden treasure. In Is Concas de S'Arrideli, on the border of Mount Nieddu, huge Mount Etna Broom plants flower. The abundance of bodies of water crossing the forest will strike you: Mitza su Filisargiu, the Isca de Crapitta rivulet, Sa Truba and Sa Para, Su Pizianti and the canals of Medau Angiu and Su Marigosu. The whole territory is enhanced by evidence of Pre-Nuragic and Nuragic civilizations: the necropolis of Montessu, the Tomb of the Giants of Barrancu Mannu and the holy well of Val Tattino.

Immersed in nature in the province of Cagliari, the Pula Adventure Park will amuse you with its aerial routes specially designed to satisfy everyone: adults, children, families, schools and groups. Lianas, ropes, Tibetan bridges, cables (Zip-line), nets and walkways, will allow you to move from one tree to another in extreme safety. You will also have the opportunity to choose the route that best suits you and choose the heights and degree of difficulty that best suits you. We remind our adventurous friends that in order to carry out the activity you must be in good psychophysical shape, not have heart problems, not have taken alcohol, psychoactive substances and medicines such as to limit lucidity on the routes. The Pula Adventure Park makes use of the innovative Coudou Pro anti-fall system to ensure maximum user safety, which makes it impossible to disengage from the lifeline of the routes unless an instructor intervenes with a special key. The peculiarity of this system is in fact that it allows the hooking and unhooking of the carabiner only when you are on the ground. No removal or violation of continuous lifeline, no risk of error.
