Beautiful city park in the heart of Bend follows the Deschutes River. Paved paths, restrooms. Grab lunch or coffee and enjoy it in the park at a table or on the lawn. Munch and Music happens in the summer. From here you can take a historical walk to see Bend's first and oldest homes. Placards are posted out from to tell you the history.

Just a 50 minute drive East of Bend you pass through the old cowboy town of Prineville. You can view Steins pillar from an overlook by car or drive to the trailhead and take the relatively easy hike right to the base. Pack a lunch, take water.
