'Vínbúðin' is the name of the Liquor stores run by the state. In Iceland only these stores are allowed to sell alcohol. You will not find alcohol in the supermarkets (only alcohol free beer).
Be aware that Vínbuðin has special working hours, especially during the holidays. Check their website for more information.
