Murphy River Walk is a 3 mile trail paved along the river, lined with native trees and plants and is absolutely scenic. Pet friendly and great for any of the ever changing seasons.
Great for shopping antiques and has many fine dining establishments from fancy steaks to a good old fashioned burger.

McCaysville is a charming mountain town on the Toccoa River. Located only 20 minutes from Ladybirds Lodge it is on the Georgia Tennessee state line (get your picture taken with you feet in both states!!) The scenic railway (which starts in Blue Ridge GA) stops in town so there is ample shops to visit and great restaurants... don't miss tubing or rafting down the Toccoa River, depending on the season it can be a nice gentle float (which I took!!) or go for the faster whitewater rafting..

McCaysville is a charming mountain town on the Toccoa River. If you are looking for a quick bite to eat this is the place to go, It has about 3 separate dining areas inside (it looks like an old victorian home) and outside tables too.

I have lived in the US (I'm originally from the UK) for over 20 years and don't usually get fish and chips....but.... the fish and chips here are the closest to the ones you get in England...
You can sit outside on the deck...great staff and all the other food is good too!!

511 E Main StI have lived in the US (I'm originally from the UK) for over 20 years and don't usually get fish and chips....but.... the fish and chips here are the closest to the ones you get in England...
You can sit outside on the deck...great staff and all the other food is good too!!
Try the peach/vanilla iced tea.....AMAZING....
Their coffee is pretty good too...

Sightseeing
Float down the Toccoa river by tube is amazing, peaceful with a few faster spots (we did go in the summer so not as rough) the mansions along the river are quite spectactular.

Take either a 2 hour ride or a 4 hour ride through the mountains. I highly recommend making reservations before your trip as it does get booked early.

Easy hike, take water shoes your swim suits and maybe pack a picnic... if you go a little further up there is a sliding rock into the falls.

This would be for a day trip, it is an hour away driving through the TN mountains so a beautiful drive. Tellico Plains Bakery is a great place to stop for a sandwich or cupcake before heading on up the the waterfalls. You can jump off the rocks, there is a sliding rock off one of the smaller waterfalls. On the way back stop at Tellico Beach Drive in for an icecream while bobbing in the water at the beach...... fun filled day..
