We have enjoyed fresh baked goods from the brick oven on this historic bakery for almost 70 years. The French bread and rolls are fabulous right out of the oven.
At the moment, social distancing is required and it is done efficiently. Cash or local checks, no debit or credit however, there is an ATM located across the street.

We went through all of our school years with the owners. They not only feed you, they also cater our parties and have a nice meat market.

We watched this place grow from a rootbeer stand in the 60's to a lovely resort- like restaurant now. They are serving meals out on their shaded patio at the moment. Enjoy the ducks, chickens and roosters in the pond area.

A very quaint histories village 30 minutes drive from here. This is the home of the longest covered bridge west of the Mississippi River (so the story goes). The River's Edge and the 50'sRoadhouse are the places to eat.

We have enjoyed this restful place for more years than I remember. The bakery produces the best apple dumplings from their orchards along with pies, turnovers and other goodies. The grounds are lovely and I believe there is a play area for the little ones.

We host a great professional rodeo the second weekend in April. The fun begins with a luncheon for the gals served by the contestants and other guys on Wednesday, followed by slack time on Friday... School is usually closed due to too many kids at the rodeo grounds watching the contestants. Local parade through town on Saturday before the event and usually a dance that evening, and the final day is Sunday.
