Many additions have been made recently, and more indoor seating is now available. The pizza is fantastic! Expect longer wait times and crowds on weekends.

Jump Rock is a popular swimming hole with a giant boulder that’s safe to jump off of. We wouldn’t encourage diving but the river is definitely deep enough for jumping. It’s a beautiful place to have some fun in the water!

Float downstream from the Copperas Creek Canoe launch, located near the Osborne Bend trailhead parking lot. This mostly class I section is great for beginners, but also provides enough sandbars, riffles, and small ledges to make paddling interesting for everyone.

Auxier Ridge offers some of the most stunning views the Gorge has to offer. The trail has a loop option to view courthouse rock and double arch. The loop is long and moderately strenuous, and may not be the best choice for younger children. This trail is usually quite busy, so we recommend visiting on a weekday for the best experience. Also be aware that the road this trail head is located on often closes during the winter, and periodically for repairs. When visiting, you will see the results of an uncontained campfire that devastated parts of the area--a good reminder to practice safe fire-making and leave no trace! Dogs are welcomed, but must remain on a leash.

This scenic overlook towers 400 feet above the Red River. As you look out over the ridges and valleys of the gorge, it’s easy to mistake them for mountains. These cliffs were created not by uplift, but by the slow and steady carving of the Red River. Dogs are welcomed, must must remain on a leash.
