Great place to see Kiwi, Tuatara and your fair share of Pukekos. There is also a very friendly Tui and a bunch of other birds to see.

Great place to see Kiwi, Tuatara and your fair share of Pukekos. There is also a very friendly Tui and a bunch of other birds to see.
Awesome spot for river swimming. Very refreshing (translation: cold). Deep, clear water, surrounded by bush. Some rocks for jumping in to deeper pools. Unfortunately very little shade. A short walk from parking. Bring flip flops for the walk down and across the rocks. The walk down takes around 3-4 minutes and is a little steep but manageable.
