This is what I would call downtown St Augustine. It's about 45mins from Jax, and has plenty to do: shops, food, go to the fort, watch a reenactment, admire the history. You'll never run out of things to do.

This one is a little farther out, about an hour and a half away, but it is so worth it. This is one of Florida's natural springs. You can rent an inner tube and float down this river!
